Amber Heard Confirms Training for Role in "Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom

Amber Heard has been confirmed to reprise her role as Mera in the highly anticipated upcoming movie, "Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom." The actress has announced that she has begun training for her role, ahead of the film's summer production.

Warner Bros. entrusted director James Wan with the Aquaman franchise a few years ago, building upon Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry, first introduced in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." After Zack Snyder's serious take on Aquaman, Wan opted for a more lighthearted approach in his solo film, creating a colorful and entertaining blockbuster.

The film's success, grossing over $1.1 billion worldwide, led to the prompt development of a sequel. Wan and writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick have been working on "Aquaman 2" for nearly two years, and production is now underway, with filming set to take place in London, and much of the original cast returning. Additionally, "Game of Thrones" actor Pilou Asbaek is set to join the DC Extended Universe.

While plot details have not been disclosed, many of the cast members have hinted at their preparation for the upcoming production, including Heard, who confirmed her training for the role on Instagram. Although the photo she shared did not reveal much about her character's involvement in the sequel, Heard's recent portrayal of Mera in Zack Snyder's Justice League means that she is uniquely positioned amongst her fellow cast members.

With a prominent role in a lengthy production, Heard is taking the necessary steps to ensure she is in optimal physical shape for "Aquaman 2." The release date is yet to be announced.
