Bola Tinubu to sneak into Nigeria After Severe Ailment and Foreign Treatment

On Monday, April 24th, 2023, former Governor of Lagos State and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, is expected to Nigeria after being away for over a month. Tinubu had travelled to France to seek medical treatment for an undisclosed ailment, which was initially reported as a vacation.

However, according to Jaratvent, Tinubu's ailment was so severe that for five days while being hospitalized, he could not speak and had to be intubated. Intubation is a procedure required to help save a life when the patient cannot breathe. It is a process where a healthcare provider inserts a tube through a patient's mouth or nose, then down into their trachea (airway/windpipe), and the tube keeps the trachea open so that air can get through.

Sources who spoke to Jaratvent claimed that Tinubu's tongue was sticking out during the time his condition was severe. The severity of his ailment also prevented him from traveling to Saudi Arabia for lesser hajj, which his media aide had initially proposed in a statement.

Tinubu's aides and chieftains of his party - APC - had initially claimed that the 'President-elect' was in Europe for vacation, and his media aide had stated that he had travelled to Paris and London to rest and plan his transition program ahead of May 29, 2023 inauguration. But Jaratvent had earlier reported that Tinubu fell ill after the March 18 governorship and State Assembly elections and was flown to France for medical treatment.

Despite the initial denials, a crowd was being organized to receive Tinubu right from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja and welcome him back to Nigeria. Supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress will form part of the crowd.

Tinubu's health has been a subject of public interest, as he is considered a key player in Nigeria's politics, particularly the 2023 presidential elections. However, the severity of his ailment and its effect on his ability to actively participate in politics remain unknown.
