Kidnapper laments wasting N2m share of ransom on frivolities
A kidnapper identified as Haruna Musa has expressed regret over his inability to utilize the sum of two million Naira he gained from a kidnapping operation. The 28-year-old, who hails from Farang in Fufore Local Government Area of Adamawa State, made this disclosure during an interview with journalists in Yola on April 27th. Musa revealed that he spent the money frivolously on items that had no lasting value.
Musa was among nine suspects apprehended by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command attached to Crack Squad, in collaboration with local hunters from Gombi LGA. They were paraded before the press at the police headquarters in Yola, on April 27th. The suspects were alleged to have participated in a kidnapping operation, during which one Shuaibu of Malabu was abducted.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects are currently under investigation and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are completed. The Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Adeniyi, has ordered a thorough investigation of the case.
