Peter Obi Vows to Reclaim 'Stolen' Mandate: Former Governor Ready to Explore All Legal Options

Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, who was the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, has vowed to explore all legal options to reclaim what he claims to be his stolen mandate. Speaking at a Labour Party stakeholders’ meeting in Awka, Obi reiterated his determination to fight for what he believes is rightfully his.

Although Obi came third in the February 25th presidential election, he has consistently maintained that he won the election and that his mandate was stolen. The election was won by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) coming second.

Obi's decision to contest the election results in court is based on his belief that the election was marred by irregularities, malpractices, and rigging. He believes that the outcome of the election does not reflect the true wishes of the Nigerian people.

At the Labour Party stakeholders’ meeting, Obi assured party members of his commitment to exploring every available legal option to ensure that the mandate he believes was stolen is returned to him. He expressed his appreciation for their support thus far and pledged his continued support to the party.

Obi’s determination to fight for his mandate has been widely praised, with many people seeing it as a testament to his commitment to democracy and the rule of law. It remains to be seen how the legal battle will play out, but it is clear that Obi is not giving up without a fight.
